nanotools is a high tech precision machining company, making smallest devices to the very nanometer. We are supplier to the leading semiconductor manufacturers worldwide, as well as to all industries who require ultra precision components.

Passion for Precision.

We use a sophisticated electron beam technique (EBD) to form components of almost any desired geometry and functionality — made of amorphous diamond like carbon (HDC). As an example, typical dimensions of an AFM probe are a spike (100-10-1) of 100 nm length with 10 nm diameter and an 1 nm sharp end, integrated into a silicon MEMS component as part of an automated microscope system.

Since 2008 we apply a quality management system as per DIN EN ISO 9001 as the first probe manufacturer. We do a 100% quality check for every product leaving our facility, ensuring that all customers gets exactly what they need.

nanotools lies in the heart of Munich, Germany. Located next to touristic highlights such as “Marienplatz”, old town hall, and (yes, indeed) the “Hofbräuhaus”, but also to the “Technical Museum/Deutsches Museum”, the European Patent Office, famous Theatres and the Opera Hall.
Within walking distance are BMW, Siemens, Linde and other Munich high tech companies — well, they started their business a few years earlier than us …

nanotools — 15 years now

Production began with 3 employees and shared equipment at the Center for NanoScience. Today everything is integrated in the nanotools building: you can find our offices here, as well as people doing research, designing, constructing, developing and manufacturing. Over the years, we developed our own automated production lines, running 24/7 — and we are about to double our clean room space right now.
