Company
nanotools®
is a fast growing company which designs, manufactures and markets tools for
nanotechnology applications. Currently the main topics are high quality EBD and
Silicon scanning probes for atomic force microscopy (AFM) and a variety of
diamond-like carbon based NanoMEMS components.
The company was founded in 1997 as a spin-off of the Center for Nanoscience (CeNS) in Munich.
The company's business plan also convinced the jury of the McKinsey business
plan contest 97 and nanotools became the winning team.
While being PhD students the founders of nanotools® had to answer the growing demand towards AFM probes for their scientific research. The HDC (high density carbon) technology enabled the nanotools team to manufacture tips of almost any desired geometry and functionality.
nanotools® is working profitable since the foundation and became one of the leading companies in the industrial SPM market. Since 2005 nanotools® has a fully automated production system and in the same year a second production line with CarbonNanoTips was launched.
In the field of science and new applications nanotools® is doing a constant research to develop new markets.
Since 2008 nanotools® applies a quality management system as per DIN EN ISO 9001 as the first probe manufacturer.
